The role
Note: Contractor engagement, 3–6 months, with a real chance to extend and convert if the project continues
This is a fully remote, full-time role for candidates based in Asia, requiring 1–2 hours of daily overlap with US or EU time zones. The schedule is flexible (Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday). You will apply best practices for monitoring, observability, security, and infrastructure automation to expand multi-cloud and bare metal platforms powering Layer-1 blockchain deployments.
- Ensure availability of critical blockchain infrastructure services, specifically targeting 99.99% system uptime
- Respond to incidents and proactively identify potential issues in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain open-source tools to manage blockchain infrastructure in a multi-cloud or bare metal hybrid environment (AWS, GCP, and bare metal)
- Actively troubleshoot issues during testing and deployment, catching and resolving protocol-level bottlenecks before mainnet upgrades
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and other tools to ensure a secure software development life cycle
- Participate in the on-call rota, providing rapid mitigation for production system interruptions
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the progressive transition from a foundation-coordinated federated validator model to a fully decentralized validator network
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role, with direct experience in blockchain infrastructure
- Strong experience with Linux-based systems and administration
- Working knowledge of container environments and Kubernetes orchestration
- Proficiency with observability tooling such as Grafana, Prometheus, or similar tools for real-time monitoring
- Expert-level shell scripting skills, with knowledge of systems languages including Rust, Go, and Python
- Extensive experience configuring, scaling, monitoring, and tuning services in AWS and/or GCP
- Proven ability to write clear operational designs and blameless post-mortems
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent
- Nice to have: Previous experience running and maintaining proof-of-stake node infrastructure or partner chain nodes
- Nice to have: Experience with GitOps workflows and Nix for reproducible builds
