The role
We are looking for a Senior or Principal Ruby on Rails Developer to join our engineering team and collaborate closely with product managers and designers to build and improve our core products. You will work within a small, agile squad structure that covers the full lifecycle from design through to production operations.
- Design and implement product features using Ruby on Rails
- Refactor existing products toward a microservices architecture
- Collaborate with product managers and designers on requirements definition and specification formulation
- Lead architecture design based on requirements and select appropriate middleware
- Measure and analyse service quality metrics and implement improvement measures
What we're looking for
Must-haves:
- 5+ years of experience developing and operating web services using Ruby on Rails
- Experience as a technical lead across the full project development lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of and hands-on experience with database systems
- Experience using cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
- Experience in API design, development, and documentation
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle
Nice to haves:
- Experience diagnosing and resolving issues from application logs
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience designing application architecture and selecting middleware
- Experience publishing or contributing to open-source software
- External technical output experience (technical writing, blog posts, conference presentations, etc.)
